Use stain & mould surface cleaner to remove mould and stop it coming back!
New Zealand is known for having cold, old homes. Unfortunately, we also suffer from a cold, wet climate. This combination of factors often leads to mould and mildew on walls, ceilings, and around windows. Sometimes, no matter how much you leave the window open, humidity, poor airflow, and inadequate insulation leads to mould.
There are many products out there, most using strong toxic chemicals. While they might remove the existing mould, strong bleaches can damage walls, drip onto carpets, and it doesn’t actually kill the mould. So how can you resolve the mould?
Dream Eco Product’s stain and mould surface cleaner.
Why does this stain and mould surface cleaner work?
White vinegar is acidic making it ideal for breaking down stains. It also is incredibly effective and kills 82% of mould species. It can also help to prevent mould from coming back as it penetrates the surface and kills the roots of the fungus.
Lemon essential oil
Lemon is a natural disinfectant with mild bleach properties. It can help kill bugs such as e. coli and salmonella too, making this an ideal cleaner for your benchtop and bathroom too.
Lavender essential oil
Often used as a scent, lavender oil has been shown to help alleviate headaches, and can help with sleep. It’s also anti-microbial and anti-fungal, making it ideal as a part of the mould-fighting trilogy of ingredients in this amazing cleaner.
How to use the cleaner to get rid of mould and stains
Apply the cleaner to a cloth and spread over the affected surface area. Let it sit for a few minutes, then wash off with warm water. The anti-fungal properties will continue to work for a long time afterwards. This cleaner also makes a great regular cleaner for bathrooms, particularly as a degreaser for shower walls, and will help prevent mould from forming.
What else can this cleaner do?
This product also is fantastic for removing nicotine stains from walls and is an excellent spot treatment for a variety of smudges and smears that seem to appear (especially with children!). It cleans natural wood without staining, making it ideal to remove mildew from saunas. Try rubbing a little on taps and sinks, it makes stainless steel gleam.
It also can be used as a spot remover on clothing and carpets. Ensure you patch test first to establish that it doesn’t harm the fabric. For clothing, dab a little on and then wash as normal. For carpets, apply with a damp cloth, let sit for a few minutes, then sponge the cleaner- and the stain- off!
